This is the complete study package for Design and Analysis of Experiments — the
branch of statistics that systematically plans experiments and analyses their results. The course
covers ANOVA, the three classical agricultural designs (CRD, RBD, LSD), missing-value estimation
and efficiency comparisons, with two worked examples per concept.
Pre-requisite: Courses 1–6, especially Inferential Statistics —
F-test for variances. Familiarity with sums of squares and variance is essential.
Course Outcomes
Acquaint with the role of statistics in agriculture and other fields.
Apply the principles of experimental design — replication, randomization, local control.
Carry out ANOVA for one-way and two-way classifications.
Analyse CRD, RBD and LSD layouts; compute critical differences for treatment comparisons.
Estimate missing values in RBD and LSD and recover the analysis.
Compare efficiency of designs (RBD vs CRD; LSD vs RBD vs CRD).
